Burcak Guclu, an RIT fourth-year industrial and systems engineering major, is credited with helping a semiconductor firm realize savings of $5 million to $10 million a year. She was part of a team at Infineon Technologies Richmond that developed an algorithm to improve the process of computer-wafer fabrication increasing the yield by 1 percent, saving the company up to $10 million annually. -

Two World War II pilots who graduated from RIT were honored at a Veteran's Day luncheon at the Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science. Col. Thomas Burgie, (second from left) head of RIT's Air Force ROTC program, and ROTC student David Baker (left) chatted with Robert Kaplan (far right), class of '49, and Roy Brockman '41. Kaplan, who lives in Buffalo, flew B24s and was shot down over China in 1944; Brockman, of Rochester, flew a B17 on 35 missions in the European theater. -
