    Janet Lomax, former news anchor at News 10 NBC in Rochester, N.Y., kicked off the RIT Division of Diversity and Inclusion Speaker Series Sept. 18. Lomax is RIT’s 2018-2019 Frederick H. Minett Professor. The professorship, established in 1991, brings distinguished Rochester-area multicultural professionals to RIT to work with students, faculty and staff members for one academic year.

This is the seventh year the Arnold Air Society, a professional and honorary service organization comprised of ROTC cadets from regional officer candidate training and university ROTC programs, coordinated the event with support from RIT’s Air Force ROTC Detachment 538.

    RIT President David Munson (right) and Vice President of Beijing Jiaotong University Jun Liu signed a renewal of commitment on Sept. 10 to recognize the success of the RIT-BJTU partnership. The two universities have been strategic partners since 2012 and offer a joint B.S. degree in Management Information Systems to more than 400 students. A tree will be planted in Global Village on RIT’s campus to commemorate the partnership.
