A total solar eclipse will happen today when the moon passes between the sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the sun.

Look to the skies today (wearing your solar eclipse glasses, of course), as the rare astronomical phenomenon promises to be an awe-inspiring experience.

Campus activities will highlight the RIT Eclipse Fest from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Gordon Field House and Activities Center and Hale-Andrews Student Life Center. Attendees can enjoy activities like glow dodgeball, a neon dance party, space-themed food, and more. A limited number of commemorative RIT Eclipse Fest T-shirts will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

For students who missed the on-campus distribution of glasses, a supply will be available at the Eclipse Fest locations.

RIT Public Safety is reminding those leaving campus after the events to expect delays as traffic may be heavy. Roads on and around campus will be monitored to help minimize any disruptions.
