The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Package Engineer II you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

Providing direct and/or indirect package engineering services to assigned operating units through package design, development and scale-up based on customer requirements and expectations.

Organizing the implementation of existing and new package designs including testing, evaluation, presentation, and recommendation of results.

Investigating opportunities to decrease packaging material cost and increase process efficiencies.

Evaluating various packaging options to improve sustainability and circularity of packaging components.

Contributing to the growth and continued success of multiple different product lines and business groups within 3M.

Travel: May include up to 20% domestic/international

Location: Maplewood, MN, Remote local to Maplewood, MN, Hybrid

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution with a focus in Packaging Science/Engineering

Three (3) months of package engineering/design experience in a private, public, government or military environment. This could include Full-time employment or internship experience

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

Experience in Consumer Packaging, Design and Testing, e-Commerce exposure

Ability to work simultaneously on multiple teams and managing multiple projects

Working knowledge of Artios cad, Excel, PowerPoint and ERP/SAP

Consensus building skills to guide and influence clients
