The Support Engineer position is a junior role on our Engineering Team that
focuses on production issues. They will
work alongside FrontEnd and FullStack Engineers to replicate and resolve
customer issues, maintain code bases, and
help evolve current platforms to meet ever changing needs. This role will
have exposure to a multitude of
technologies, experience the software development lifecycle from a variety of
viewpoints, and build upon skill sets to
advance their career in the direction of their desire.

This role at Convo is also ideal for new graduates or junior technologists
looking to get a start in Software Engineering.

Responsibilities

● Reproduce a variety of customer reported issues.
● Validate production builds and releases.
● Work with QA, Developers, and DevOps to deliver time sensitive solutions.
● Liaise between Engineering, Customer Success, and IT Support teams.
● Assist regulators with Data Validation during audits.
● Bring eagerness and enthusiasm to the group with fresh ideas and
approaches.
● Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

● Four-year college degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related
discipline or equivalent experience.
● Understanding of OOP principles and fundamentals of SDLC.
● Coding experience in at least one of the following: Java, C#, Python,
Javascript, Ruby.
● Experience in Linux (Ubuntu, Debian)/Unix Server environments.
● Familiarity with Relational Databases and SQL.
● Excellent problem solving skills.
● Knows what SIP, RTP, and WebRTC acronyms mean.
● Fluency in American Sign Language and familiarity with Deaf Culture is a
plus.
