POSITION TITLE: Clerical Assistant REPORTS TO: Administrator

DEPARTMENT: Administration SALARY: Non-Exempt

GENERAL SCOPE:

Assist Administrator with day to day operations. The primary purpose of this position is to perform clerical assistant level duties related to the Administrator in meeting the administrative needs of regulations for the Jewish Home of Rochester as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS/SPECIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:

- High School Diploma required
- Strong attention to detail
- Good organization skills
- Excellent communication skills
- High comfort level with computer use
- Very high proficiency in excel and other Microsoft office applications

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Collect and organize data from various internal departments and sources, with high attention to detail
- Report information to various regulatory agencies on a scheduled basis through web based portals
- Compile Excel spreadsheets with statistical information
- Create communication templates using Microsoft Word
- Schedule and coordinate meetings
- Assist Human Resources and other departments such as Nursing, Social Work, and Finance as needed with various duties.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS: Sits 50-75% of the day. May be required to lift (and/or move) 10-30 pounds. Most frequently lifts 10-15 pounds. Occasional walking, stooping, squatting and bending. Repetitive hand/wrist movement. Subject to frequent interruptions. Long periods of sitting using a computer terminal. Periods of sustained concentration. Physical work intensity level 2.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Works in well-lighted, ventilated office area, as well as throughout the building.

ADVERSE WORKING CONDITIONS: May be exposed to infections, disease and disagreeable odors. May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members and employees.

VARIABLES: May be asked to work beyond normal working hours or asked to adjust schedule to accommodate projects.
