The Public Relations Media Associate will assist with website management and digital accessibility as well as social media development and campaigns for Tennessee Schools for the Deaf. In addition, this associate will provide production support including photo/videography, graphic design, editing, captioning videos following DCMP guidelines, assist the school archivist, and enhance community relations for all three campuses of the Tennessee Schools for the Deaf.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following duties are normal for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all- inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
• Develop and create social media posts to promote visibility of TSD schools
• Manage and update school website while maintaining accessibility
• Website and social media postings including accessibility
• Develop informational/promotional video scripts for TSD schools and create content for
public release
• Provide production support ranging from photo/videography to editing
• Caption videos following DCMP (Described and Captioned Media) guidelines for captioning
• Implement strategies to collaborate with TSD community members and to enhance visibility
and transparency
• Other duties may be required and assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in public Relations or Technology related field, Associate degree and experience may substitute for the required bachelor’s degree.
• ASL skills strongly preferred
• Valid Tennessee Driver’s License
• SLPI: ASL rating of Survival is preferred; SLPI: Sign Language (ASL) sign classes and skill development support available for selected qualified applicants who do not meet the rating level.
Terms of Employment: Full time 12-month position
