My identity as a deaf person played a significant role in my college choice, and RIT has been the perfect fit. The classes I took applied to every aspect of my co-op experience working as a research assistant in a wet bench lab at North Carolina State. As an undergraduate, I also have conducted extensive research, including work on water purification, cell biology, and deaf literacy rates in medicine. My experiences at RIT have given me the confidence and the valuable skills to pursue my career goal of becoming a physician.
