Advocating for Walkable Cities Through a Saunders Ph.D.

What is your specialty in Saunders’ Ph.D. program?

Finance and Accounting (interest in financial economics).

Why did you choose Saunders College of Business at RIT for your Ph.D. in business administration?

The Saunder’s business school seems to be at its apex and I am very happy to be at this foundational time. I hope I can contribute to the college and university’s ambition to become an R1 university.

Is there specific research that attracted you to Saunders College?

Urban economics and labour market questions. After having worked with a professor on a real estate market question, I subsequently spoke with other professors who encouraged me to further my exploration.    

What do you intend to do with your Ph.D. after you graduate?

I want to do research related to and advocate for walkable cities all over the world. But since 45% of the world’s population lives in urban centers, everything in our daily lives is affected by urban economics. I hope to be a driving force toward improving the lives of the many.

What else would you like to share with others that are considering coming to Saunders for their Ph.D. in business administration?

Be ready to take initiative and advance your own research. The college gives you many resources and opportunities to do so!
