Educational Dinosaur Sculpture

A 19-foot plant eater made a roaring debut when it went on display at the Museum of the Earth in Ithaca, N.Y. Rochester Institute of Technology sculpture student Andrew Bovenzi '26 made the life-sized artistic model of a hadrosaur as part of his capstone project, constructing it using foam and joint compound over a wood and chicken-wire frame. He donated the dinosaur sculpture to the museum to give visitors a prehistoric surprise that educates them about the dinosaur. Hadrosaurs were known for their wide, duck-like beaks and large size.
