Packaging Design / GRDE 432 Chase Design and Paperboard Packaging Competition 2022
This interdisciplinary course includes fourth year graphic designers and industrial designers who are joined for the Paperboard Packaging Alliance Student Design Challenge by Packaging Science students. This semester began with a project sponsored and led by Chase Design for Grove Collaborative sustainable tooth hygiene packaging concepts. Four teams of three members participated in that project. Four teams each with four or five members participated in the 2022 Paperboard Packaging Alliance Student Design Challenge, with a total of 18 class members.
The PPA Student Design Challenge is an annual design competition in which attracts the top packaging design programs in the U.S. This year's challenge was to take any product that is currently packaged in plastic and convert this to paperboard packaging. Each team selected a very challenging category of product to tackle for this project.
