'Safe' Designs with Industry Partner Gardall

The company's legacy Gardall’s legacy as a maker of heirloom-quality safes since the 1950 reflects a deep commitment to security and durability. Students were challenged to go beyond the traditional metal safe to answer an open-ended question: "What is safe?"

Concepts ranged from a stadiometer and chair doubling as a first-aid station to a sorted medicine cabinet and timer-driven candle lantern. Select designs were chosen for an exhibit at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair, for showcase to a global audience.
