RIT’s Golisano Institute for Sustainability (GIS) and Saunders College of Business are collaborating on an accelerated pathway that provides an opportunity for a Master of Science degree in sustainable systems and a Master of Business Administration.

Students who started classes in 2020 didn't have the traditional transition from high school to college but learned to thrive during pandemic challenges.

Karuna Mukherjea and Deepak Sharma came from far away to attend RIT. The couple believes it was destiny that brought them together. Both from India, they found a welcoming university and community on campus.

Orlando Ortiz took over as the RIT Alumni Association president in January, an association with which he has been a member of for 10 years. He is also active with RIT’s Lambda Alpha Upsilon Fraternity Inc. and is a mentor with RIT’s Men of Color, Honor, and Ambition (MOCHA) program.

The path to obtaining a law degree typically requires at least seven years in higher education. However, students enrolled in RIT’s Accelerated 3+3 Law program are able to shave a year off of their journey and get a head start on establishing their career in law.

Every year during tax season, student volunteers from Saunders College of Business at Rochester Institute of Technology provide free tax return services to families in need through a program called VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) offered by Creating Assets, Savings & Hope (CASH), a Rochester non-profit. CASH “empowers people in our community seeking financial security by offering free, year-round tax advice and preparation, financial education programs, and consultation.”

Michael Rizzolo didn’t plan on learning American Sign Language when he came to RIT as a student, but he grew interested and eventually became an interpreter. Today, he is founder and CEO of the interpreting agency Interpretek.

Independent research projects can help cultivate critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Whether it’s late nights spent in a RIT lab or a field study in the mountains, research experiences can be a cutting-edge way for students to prepare for the future.

Frank Sklarsky, a successful businessman who with his wife, Ruth, has shared their philanthropy with RIT and others, is RIT’s 2024 Outstanding Alumnus.

Be curious because what if, said RIT alumnus Bob Morrealle, who shared stories of discovery, hope, and confidence during his presentation at the Futurists Symposium, a collection of alumni and faculty offering an insider’s look into the future of technology, the arts, and design. The symposium, held April 26 in the Wegmans Theater, MAGIC Spell Studios, was the official kickoff to Imagine RIT: Creativity and Innovation Festival.

Saunders College of Business at Rochester Institute of Technology received several rankings from TFE Times on their Top Graduate Programs lists for 2024.

 

RIT's Expressive Communication Center delves into the challenges of ableism in communication education, presenting their findings at a national conference in Arizona. ECC students aim to foster dialogue on accessibility and inclusive communication practices, advocating for more inclusive assessment methods in higher education.
