Team Pacman, a group of undergraduate students from Rochester Institute of Technology, placed second among 54 entries from competing universities in the recent Paperboard Packaging Alliance’s national Student Design Challenge.

At an Oct. 29 celebration at RIT, E. Philip Saunders announced a $7.5 million gift to the business college that bears his name. This transformational gift will be used to help fund a major renovation and expansion of the facilities in Max Lowenthal Hall, home of Saunders College of Business.

The team, led by three Ph.D. students from the Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science, won first place in the OpenEDS Challenge focused on semantic segmentation.

RIT Croatia and A1 Hrvatska signed a Memorandum of Agreement at the Zagreb campus and announced the first project: RIT students from the Croatian and American campuses will develop a software solution for monitoring air pollution.

SOIS launched the inaugural Napier Leadership Experience with a day-long leadership retreat during which Sharon D. RIT is partnering with 2U, a global leader in education technology, to deliver an online Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) degree. The program, which is 2U’s first architecture offering, takes RIT’s highly regarded campus-based degree online.
