Favorite Springtime RIT Traditions Unlocked

Right before the last day of classes and finals week starts, RIT holds its annual SpringFest!
Among the sights and scenes were food trucks, carnivals, live entertainment, games, and themed RIT dining, and more.

The first event I attended was the Spring Succulents and Spirit. The succulents were to celebrate renewal and rejuvenation going into the finals season. The second event was the Unlabeled Music Festival, where RIT students could perform across a variety of locations around campus. I went to Kiley Maeve’s performance in Artesano’s, where she sang some originals and some covers. I highly recommend her single on Apple Music and Spotify, “Amy March.” 

Finally, some friends and I went to the Rochester Public Market on Sunday. That’s where the Great New York State Flea came to Rochester for the first time. Vendors sold diverse types of collectibles, and it was very popular among RIT students. Overall, it was a great way to destress and get involved in the RIT community and the surrounding area!

I highly recommend experiencing every tradition at RIT, especially as a first-year student. It’s not only a great way to meet people, but these traditions are really what made me feel like RIT was home.
