Carol Anderson, a professor of African American Studies at Emory University and the author of “White Rage” and “One Person, No Vote,” will be the keynote speaker on April 8 in a free Zoom webinar.

A panel discussion on the “Legacies of the 19th Amendment: The Struggle Still Continues” will follow. The panel features:
• Erika Duthiers, assistant vice president for compliance and ethics and deputy general counsel in the RIT Office of Legal Affairs, moderator
• Deborah Hughes, president and CEO of the National Susan B. Anthony Museum
• Kate Bennett, National Women’s Hall of Fame
• Samra Brouk, New York State Senator, 55th District
• Sarah Clark, New York State Assemblywoman, AD 136

The event is hosted by RIT's special program Moving Forward: Suffrage, Past, Present and Future. Moving Forward focuses on the history of women’s voting activism; the problems and questions that the 1920 expansion of voting rights opened and left unsolved; and the work that remains to be done to continue expanding political representation and participation for all women.

ASL interpretation and real-time captioning will be provided.
