Dr. Atcitty is a distinguished technical staff member with the Sandia National Laboratories. Hosted by AISES President Sherry Sneezer the seminar focuses on Native American communities that face high rates of energy property for various reasons. Growing up on the Navajo Nation, Dr. Stanley Atcitty grew up without access to electricity or running water, a common challenge for thousands of people living on the Navajo Nation. Currently, Dr. Atcitty’s work is focused on helping Native American tribes create resilient energy systems utilizing energy storage and renewable energy technologies. Dr. Atcitty will talk about the challenges with energy poverty in Native American communities as well as potential solutions he has been working on with different tribes.
