Faculty Forum: Inclusive Teaching Strategies for Student Success
Inclusive teaching is both a science and an art. At this panel event, a pioneering group of faculty colleagues from across the campus will join the moderator Taj Smith (RIT Executive Director for Culture and Diversity Education) and our audience for a dynamic conversation centered around situations, choices, and strategies related to inclusive teaching. The panel discussion will cover topics including why should faculty focus on inclusive teaching, what are the best ways to design and/or update your syllabus, how to design your assignments, and how to deal with interactions in the classroom and during office hours so that students feel welcome. The audience will have the opportunity to interact with panelists during the Q&A.
Panelists: Nickesia Gordon (CLA), Matthew Houdek (UWP), Lea Michel (COS), Mari Jaye Blanchard (CAD), Linda Bryant (NTID)
