Fall Convocation for New Students and Families

The Convocation for New Students and Families will be live streamed on Tuesday, August 18, at 3 p.m. on the New Student Orientation website https://www.rit.edu/orientation/. This is an opportunity to help welcome our new students and their parents to RIT’s vibrant scholarly and creative community. The Convocation for New Students and Families features an academic procession, recognition of the faculty, welcoming remarks by Dr. Sandra Johnson, senior vice president for Student Affairs, and Shine DeHarder, president of Student Government. Dr. Joshua Thorson, assistant professor, College of Art and Design, and a recipient of the 2019-2020 Eisenhart Provost Award For Excellence in Teaching, will serve as the keynote speaker. RIT’s President, Dr. David C. Munson, Jr., will formally accept the new class of incoming students.

Due to Covid-19, the Tiger Walk will not be held this year, but you can record a Tiger Welcome video at https://tinyurl.com/RIT-WV-Page (deadline: Aug. 14) and use #RITOrientation to see your social media posts on the New Student Orientation website.
