Grand Thinking Across Disciplines

Calling X disciplinary collaborators! Funding is available to support your work! Announcing a unique opportunity for GRAND thinking! Are you interested in developing collaborative curriculum that builds critical thinking for the Grand Challenges? Gain insight about creating shared curriculum across disciplines, find possible collaborators for your own project, and learn about a funding opportunity.

The event has 2 parts:

  1. Faculty Collaboration Speed Dating: Create and post a PPT slide that introduces you, your interests, and your skills to share. Attend and review other’s posted slides to find possible collaborators. Faculty Collaborator PPT template link.
  2. Learn more through sharing of current projects: Faculty teams will share their experiences, tips and tricks for making these curricular collaborations successful. Student scholars will share project posters.

The Grand Challenges Scholars Program at RIT is a learning community of students, alumni, and faculty who are passionate about addressing humanity’s most pressing Grand Challenges and working toward achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Grand Challenges Scholars join a global network of students who have met five core competencies (talent, global, multidisciplinary, entrepreneurial, and social) during the course of their undergraduate degrees. Students each chart their own unique path through the competencies, often under the mentorship of faculty, while focusing on particular challenges of interest and prepare themselves with the critical thinking, ethical and technical skills needed to take on Grand Challenges after graduation.
