The inaugural production in the newest building on the RIT campus, AstroDance II: Across the Universe, premieres Dec. 1 to 3, featuring a variety of dance, aerial and circus arts, and augmented reality, which will be presented in the new state-of-the-art Sklarsky Glass Box Theater.

Alumnus steps up to the plate to help bring ‘MLB The Show’ video game to life
Andrew Lytle ’19 (3D digital design) was never a big baseball fan growing up. Before accepting his job at PlayStation’s San Diego Studio as an environment artist, his involvement with sports was limited to attending RIT hockey games. Now, after nearly four years of working on the iconic baseball video game franchise, MLB The Show, Lytle says he’s a proud fan.

Multidisciplinary student team demonstrates astronaut training device at NASA’s Johnson Space Center
Students from engineering, game design, and 3D design will travel to NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston April 3-5 to demonstrate PLANETS, a portable sensory device to help astronauts recover normal balance and movement on earth after an extended stay in space.

Student designs to be featured in Fashion Week Rochester
After a two-year hiatus, RIT’s College of Art and Design reintroduced the Charrette, a unique, weeklong design challenge in which students must create a wearable sculpture that communicated the idea of memory. In addition to other prizes awarded, the work of 15 students was selected to appear on the runway during Fashion Week Rochester, set for Oct. 13-15.
