Where else would you rather be….than at RIT’s Big Shot
In October, RIT’s Big Shot team coordinated thousands of volunteers to capture a historic moment commemorating the final season of Highmark Stadium, home of the Buffalo Bills. Fans couldn’t Bill-ieve the stunning final images, including this one that became our most-liked Instagram photo.
Our annual class photo of our new students has become a highly anticipated tradition for both students and family members, who hunt to find familiar faces in the giant letters. This year, our team launched a new way of mapping out the letters, making our name and our students really standout!
If you tuned in to Jeopardy on Nov. 18, you were in for a pleasant Tiger-related surprise. RIT was the $2,000 answer in the category “Tech Schools.” Judging by the reactions of our Facebook fans, you loved the clue as much as we did.
Shining bright in the city lights
New York City got a lot more orange this fall! Several locations around the Big Apple were spreading the news about the amazing opportunities RIT offers—including a giant 3D billboard that Ritchie took a trip to visit. His fans loved the trip so much, they’re clamoring to have him visit their towns. Ritchie’s adventures in the subway and around the city were full of iconic moments not to be missed.

Dan Povenmire, co-creator of Disney’s Phineas and Ferb and voice of Dr. Doofenschmirtz, visited campus for Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend, and the RIT Pep Band had a surprise for him during the men’s hockey game at the Blue Cross Arena.
In 2025, we said goodbye to retiring President Dave Munson and his wife, Nancy, who had become social media icons with their annual orientation videos. We also welcomed President Bill Sanders and his wife, Emily, along with their adorable pup, Ollie, as they made a strong first impression.
We earned our highest-ever ranking in U.S. News and World Report’s list of the best colleges in the country. The Tiger pride was showing.
We loved having so many of you back on campus for another great Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend. Hundreds of pictures filled our album on Facebook. Did we capture you and your family enjoying the food, fun, and festivities?
While goodbyes are never easy, one of our favorite days of the year is commencement. We love experiencing the smiles and the tears of joy as students and families celebrate big accomplishments. We’re so proud of our Tigers and all the greatness they bring to the world!
More than 30,000 people visited Imagine RIT in April, and a bunch of them told us what they loved about the day in one of our Mic on the Mile segments. A robot scooping ice cream? Yeah, we got that. Each year is unique, so be sure join us for our annual creativity and innovation festival and save the date of April 25, 2026.
