Area high school students were on campus for the fourth annual Youth Workforce Innovations Conference on April 7. Students participated in hands-on workshops in optics, alternative energy, biotechnology and the hospitality industry. Students in the biotechnology workshop joined Doug Merrill, professor and director of the Center for Bioscience Education and Technology, to learn more about the intricacies of heart muscles. -

Waving orange pompoms and carrying signs, hundreds of RIT hockey fans welcomed home their tenacious Tigers during a Friday afternoon on-campus rally. The RIT Menâs Hockey team made its first-ever debut in the NCAA Division I Frozen Four in Detroit April 8. RIT lost 8-1 to the Wisconsin Badgers. It was a storybook season for the Tigers who set several school records, including most wins (28), longest winning streak (12) and fewest goals allowed per game (2.18). -

About 2,000 Tiger fans, including many students clad in RIT colors, gathered in Gordon Field House to support and cheer for the menâs hockey team in its Frozen Four debut. The Tigers were defeated 8-1 by the Wisconsin Badgers. -

Time Warner Cable has joined RITâs effort to bring more K-12 students to campus for the Imagine RIT: Innovation and Creativity Festival on May 1. Time Warner and RIT see the event as a way to expose young people to innovation, creativity and the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) disciplines. -

RIT students, faculty and staff showed their school spirit April 6 during the official send-off and pep rally for the RIT menâs hockey team. The free event, sponsored by the Center for Campus Life, was an opportunity to show Tiger pride as the menâs team prepare to face-off against University Of Wisconsin at the NCAA Division I Frozen Four championships in Detroit April 8.
