Admissions has wrapped up the Fall 2025 class and begun planning for the new recruitment cycle. We are reviewing data to determine what went well and what didn’t go well to strategize for this year. We are also reviewing data on students’ initial program of acceptance/degree level and appropriate program/degree level as a result of placement assessments and program interviews, so we can further refine our student acceptance decision-making and to ensure student success.

We have been working to finalize recruitment materials and initiatives (i.e., presentation, travel documents, schedule of schools/locations to visit) to maximize time and resources for counselor travel. We completed training sessions to review travel strategies, budget management, data collection efforts and pre-trip/post-trip activities. Our counselors are ready to hit the road now and begin work to enroll our class for next fall.

We have a busy schedule of fall activities, including webinars for prospective students and families to help them learn more about the opportunities available for students here at RIT/NTID, and our fall open house events.

Thank you for all you do to support the work of the Admissions team!

You're in! Welcome to the Tiger Family

More from this edition

Thank you for welcoming me this past month. It is an exciting time: meeting people, getting to know the many organizations here and around Rochester, and I look forward to more positive experiences. With all of us working together, we will continue the legacy of those before us.

You asked, and I’m answering! Here are a few of our students’ most burning questions.

We successfully conducted five on-campus summer programs this year, serving more than 230 students.

We welcomed 11 new deaf international students this fall, including three into the Master of Science in Deaf Education program, and finalized an agreement between NTID, Fulbright Italy, and the Wirth Foundation to support Italian students taking coursework and research in deaf education.
