This summer our counselors and academic advisors (the CAAS department) moved from a centralized location in LBJ Hall to offices in each academic department with the goal of seeing students more regularly. CAAS developed a location map with QR codes to help students and others find the advisors in their new locations.

The NTID Center on Workforce Development (NCWD) is an approved Pearson Vue Test Center and currently offers a range of CompTIA certification exams. This past summer, NCWD also supported a 10-day NTID Battery Storage Technician Bootcamp (instruction led by NTID Engineering Studies) that was offered on campus. Work is ongoing to connect program participants with jobs in this area. NCWD is currently supporting the Certificate in International Sign Interpreting, a program designed and overseen by Colin Allen.

More from this edition

Thank you for welcoming me this past month. It is an exciting time: meeting people, getting to know the many organizations here and around Rochester, and I look forward to more positive experiences. With all of us working together, we will continue the legacy of those before us.

You asked, and I’m answering! Here are a few of our students’ most burning questions.

Admissions has wrapped up the Fall 2025 class and begun planning for the new recruitment cycle, and our counselors are ready to hit the road now and begin work to enroll our class for next fall.

We successfully conducted five on-campus summer programs this year, serving more than 230 students.
