I chose RIT because I get to interact with deaf and hearing people every day, and I knew I wouldn’t find this opportunity anywhere else. Another major draw was the ability to play collegiate athletics, and the acceptance by my teammates, and the connections I have made have been outstanding. My co-op experience with the RIT/NTID Athlete Development Office put my classroom learning into practice in the real world. Part of my co-op involved partnering with Rochester Red Wings baseball and helping to plan the team’s first ever Deaf Culture Day. My co-op position enhanced my business skills as well as my soft skills.
