Why did you choose Saunders College of Business at RIT for your Ph.D. in business administration?

I chose Saunders because of its strong focus on research at the intersection of business, technology, and innovation. I was also attracted by the relatively small and collaborative Ph.D. program, which gives students opportunities to work closely with faculty members. Having studied at RIT before, I was already familiar with the university and appreciated its strong connection between technology and business.

Is there specific research that attracted you to Saunders College?

Saunders appealed to me because faculty research in the Strategy and Innovation area covers topics such as leadership, organizational learning, technological disruption, strategic management, and innovation.

What do you intend to do with your Ph.D. after you graduate?

After graduation, I hope to pursue an academic career and become a professor at a university. I would like to continue conducting research in management and strategy while also teaching and working with students.

What else would you like to share with others that are considering coming to Saunders for their Ph.D. in business administration?

One thing I would share is that a Ph.D. is very different from undergraduate or even master’s study. It requires a lot of reading, critical thinking, discussion, and learning how to develop your own research questions. At Saunders, I have found the environment to be very supportive and collaborative. Faculty members and other Ph.D. students are approachable, and there are many opportunities to learn from people with different research interests and backgrounds.
