3 Reasons I’m So Glad I Used ZeeMee

As more and more students decide to apply to RIT, they’re also downloading ZeeMee and joining our community! Here are a few key things that you need to know about the free app and how it can help in your college search process.

  1. Utilize the Ask an Admissions Counselor Channel: This is the time to ask all the questions, even the silly ones. I remember asking about classes, co-ops, and transfer credits, which really helped me better understand what RIT requirements were like. And if you don’t have any questions, reading what other people have asked made me feel like I wasn’t alone, so it’s a good channel to scroll through.
  2. Take the Roommate Quiz: I recommend not only the quiz, but also talking with everyone to see who is looking for a roommate, and how the two of you would get along. I found my roommate on Zeemee, and they’re not only a wonderful roommate but also a close friend. It was something I really valued, because I thought I would be alone coming on campus. We’re both out-of-state students, and I also think that helped build the bonds between us! The roommate quiz also asked a lot of good questions, like what time they go to sleep and what some of their favorite things are, and it was definitely a resource I implore you to use.
  3. Communicate in the Ask a Current Student Channel: No one knows all the insider information like a current student. I would ask about social life, food options (Midnight Oil is the best cafe on campus!), and academics. Their answers were not only helpful but personal and relevant. Talking with the students who went here before I did also made RIT feel like a big family, which I could go to for any advice.

Overall, ZeeMee offers so much more than just these 3 points. There are live events, giveaways, and so many students who want to make friends at their home away from home. So, if I were you, I would download ZeeMee and start chatting! When RIT and ZeeMee say, make friends before even setting foot on campus, they mean it!
