Billing and Payment Resources

Tuition for part-time undergraduate study is based on the number of credits you enroll in during each academic term. You may view and pay your electronic bill at https://www.rit.edu/eServices.

Due dates, payment options, and policies are available at http://www.rit.edu/fa/sfs/.

Email notifications are sent to students and authorized payers (e.g. parents, guardians, etc.) when bills become available. Their online eServices site provides real-time account inquiry and electronic payment for tuition/fees and Tiger Bucks.

RIT partners with many organizations that provide post-term reimbursements to their employees. Firms offering $5,250 or more in annual tuition assistance may qualify for the Employer Sponsored Tuition Plan. RIT extends a fullsemester deferment to students from participating firms. Students who wish to take advantage of this program must obtain official verification of their eligibility from their Tuition Aid Administrator, and must be in good financial standing at RIT from previous semesters. Students complete and submit an application for payment deferment once per year and the tuition bill is payable by the student directly to RIT three weeks after the term is over. To determine if your organization participates in this value-added benefit, please visit https://www.rit.edu/estp Please send an email request to opes@rit.edu to obtain a tuition deferment form if your company is on the list or to learn how to initiate participation if your company is not on the list

RIT's Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships assists students and their families in identifying sources of financial aid to help meet the cost of a quality education.

To apply for federal financial aid, you will need to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA collects the basic information needed to determine your eligibility for all of the financial aid programs sponsored by the federal government, including Federal Pell Grants, Federal Perkins Loans, and Federal William D. Ford Direct Loans.

Please note that in order to be eligible for federal funding, students must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen; must be matriculated through the Admissions Office into a degree program which is at least 16 credit hours in length (certificate programs); and must demonstrate financial need (except the Federal Unsubsidized Loan and the Federal Direct Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS)).

You can file the FAFSA electronically at https://www.fafsa.gov. The information you provide will be used to calculate your Expected Family Contribution (EFC). The EFC is used to determine your eligibility for federal student aid. After you file your FAFSA, the federal processor will send your information to all colleges that you have listed. Please use the federal school code 002806 for the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Every student who completes a FAFSA receives a Student Aid Report (SAR) from the federal processor. If RIT is listed on your SAR, we will receive the same information electronically. Please review your SAR for accuracy. If you find that you need to make corrections, follow the instructions and submit your SAR back to the processor. Once you’ve submitted your FAFSA, you can sit back and relax; we’ll take care of the next step. Award letters reflecting your annual costs and financial aid eligibility will be mailed out on a rolling-basis, beginning in mid-March.

Since you have many other things to consider as you prepare for college, we want to help make your financial aid experience as smooth as possible. Please don’t hesitate to contact RIT’s Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships if you have any questions about filing the FAFSA or to discuss your financial award letter. We can also address any concerns that you may have pertaining to your enrollment plans and their impact to your financial aid eligibility. You will find the office phone number, e-mail address, mailing address, office hours, and a breakdown of financial aid counselors for The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships through the Contact Us page at: http://www.rit.edu/emcs/financialaid/contact.html . Also, many of your questions can be answered by reviewing the web page for the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at: http://www.rit.edu/emcs/financialaid/contact.html

Students can elect to pay a Health Fee of $148 per term, or a $45 fee per visit. Insurance is necessary to access off-campus services, i.e., referral to specialists and x-ray services.

Your RIT student ID card provides you with access to the Hale-Andrews Student Life Center, located between the dormitories and the Student Alumni Union. The campus and its buildings are patrolled regularly, a Mobile Escort van and walking escort service are available 7 days a week, and blue-light courtesy boxes are located throughout the campus.

The RIT Disability Services Office is committed to providing equal access to programs, services and physical facilities to students with disabilities. Students who would like to request academic accommodation due to a disability should submit a request form and documentation of the disability to the Disability Services Office. The Director will review the request and supporting documentation and recommend appropriate and reasonable accommodations as needed. All information submitted is considered confidential and is for use only by Disability Services. No information is released without your consent.

We do not provide or coordinate personal services. Students need to make their own arrangements for mobility training, personal care assistants and personal adaptive equipment. Tutoring is not considered an accommodation; there are various academic support opportunities available within RIT for all students.

To request accommodations due to a disability, please submit a completed Disability Services Request and documentation to the Disability Services Office. You can find the online and printable request form on our website at https://www.rit.edu/dso by clicking on the “Accommodations” link. You can also refer to the “Documentation” link for more information about documentation.

Please send requests and documentation to the Disability Services Office; do not send disability information intended to serve as documentation to Admissions, Student Health or other departments within RIT.
