Student spotlight: Fine tuning a sense of touch
Fine tuning sensors on prosthetics includes incorporating the sense of touch into a device to be as close to the sensations felt by a natural limb as can be. Leila Daly, a fifth-year computer engineering technology student from Willingboro, N.J., is working on developing a sensor system for a more touch-responsive prosthetic finger.

Archery Club aims for more members and competitions
RIT’s Archery Club is holding tryouts to encourage students to join the competition team. The club has competed in virtual competitions, and the RIT team held its first live competition on Jan. 27.

More than 500 Performing Arts Scholars added to RIT’s cast of talented students
Nearly one in six of the more than 3,300 first-year and transfer undergraduates this year received a Performing Arts Scholarship from RIT. That brings the total number of scholars to more than 1,800 in the five years since the program began. The program encourages high school students involved in performing arts to continue their passions at RIT.

Rochester Prep High School seniors reveal next steps at Signing Day event
Rochester Prep High School's graduating class includes 91 students who will either continue their education or join the workforce. Eighty-five students from RIT's partner charter school will attend college in the fall, and eight of them will enroll at RIT.

O’Neil honored with Richard and Virginia Eisenhart Provost’s Award for Excellence in Teaching
Jennifer O’Neil enjoys thermodynamic memes, powerplants, and Marvel Comic heroes, especially Iron Man, and she has found ways to connect all of them for her engineering technology classes. She makes these connections through activities that bring to life complex topics that solidify learning for her students.
