RIT is offering a graduate tuition scholarship to recent alumni seeking to expand their career potential through the university’s graduate programs. Alumni can enhance their skill set for the new economy through master’s degrees that build upon collaboration, analytical thinking, complex problem solving, and flexibility.

A team at RIT has been named the winner of the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Inclusion and Diversity Prize, which celebrates those who strive to improve access to the chemical sciences and progression for all.

Many RIT students' experiences as undergraduates have helped them get into top graduate degree programs.

RIT is extending a special graduate tuition scholarship program to recent alumni as the COVID-19 pandemic enters its third year. The program helps alumni who graduated during the pandemic enhance their skill set for the new economy through master’s degrees that build upon collaboration, analytical thinking, complex problem solving, and flexibility. 

RIT will celebrate graduate research during the 13th annual Graduate Education Week and Showcase: A Vision into the Future. The virtual event—Nov. 16 to 20—creates a platform for sharing and exchanging ideas during the COVID-19 pandemic, with pre-recorded and live presentations, demonstrations, visual exhibitions, and an alumni panel discussion.

The RIT Graduate Showcase symposium highlighted the university’s signature blend of technology, the arts and design, with research topics varying from carbon nanotubes to neutron stars to wooden toys and film.

RIT appointed six new members to its board of trustees. The appointments were announced at the Nov. 7 board meeting.

The Women’s Council of RIT awarded 13 students with scholarships at the Women’s Council Scholarship Award Luncheon at Liberty Hill on April 17.

The first Inclusive Excellence research fellowship was held this summer and paired seven undergraduate students in the College of Science with research mentors. The initiative is working to create a deeper understanding of diversity in the College of Science and at RIT.

Lea Vacca Michel, associate professor in the School of Chemistry and Materials Science, received the 2017 Edwina Award at the Women’s Career Achievement Dinner on April 24 for her significant contributions to enhance gender diversity and inclusiveness at RIT.
