The “refresh” of the second floor offices in the Hugh L. Carey building is almost complete. New paint, carpets, and furniture adorns the offices ,and only whiteboards, shelves and a few final touches remain. A special thanks to Marielle Santoriello, Chris Knigga, and Jamie Munro for their work in organizing and ensuring project completion!
 
DAS hired a new interpreting manager, Catherine Stutzman, who will oversee interpreting services within the College of Liberal Arts as well as interpreting services for RIT and NTID administration. Catherine was previously a manager with the Center for Disability Rights and comes directly to us from URMC’s Patient Care Interpreting Team. Welcome Catherine!

When classes are not in session, RIT/NTID access service providers immerse themselves in professional development. Assistant Director for Professional Development Eliza Fowler, Captioning Development Specialists Laurie Conrad and Matthew Gerber, along with a team, organized and supported 31 different professional development opportunities from Dec. 18-Jan. 9 on topics ranging from Title IX, the SHED Makerspace, conflict resolution, the Henrietta Fire Department, and more.
