Students leveraged the variety of makerspaces in RIT's brand-new SHED facility to create arts-integrative work responding to a theme of "Play."

RIT will confer honorary degrees to four outstanding individuals at its 2024 commencement ceremony on Friday, May 10. The honorees will be recognized alongside more than 4,000 graduates.

Solitude Farmz, a 125-acre retreat located just outside of Oxford, N.Y., in the southern Finger Lakes, features a number of secluded walking trails that could serve to symbolize the long and winding path taken by Taylor Zimmer ’85 (printing) to become the steward of the bucolic property.

A futurist 3D-modeled poster featuring a whimsical, futuristic workshop was selected as the winning entry in this year’s Imagine RIT: Creativity and Innovation Festival poster contest. Visitors can receive a free copy of the poster during the festival on April 27, while supplies last.

This unique program, hosted by RIT Global, is one of a number of university programs being offered in Los Angeles centered on the entertainment industry.

The work of Jeremy Sniatecki ’95 (illustration) includes the design of licensed products, packaging, apparel, and art prints for the largest brands and titles in entertainment. 

Power Your Potential (PYP), celebrating the upcoming national Women's History Month in March, serves as a dynamic platform for area businesswomen to gather insights from peers, engage in educational activities, and foster an environment conducive to women's success in various professional spheres.

Chaos is the only constant in "That Damn Goat," a party, "anti-Covid" video game made by around 60 RIT faculty, students and staff. The project was led by School of Film and Animation faculty Brian Larson (creative director) and Jesse O'Brien (art director).

Under the guidance of John T. Quinn, director of character art for Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, students illustrated poster concepts showing cross-branding between Disney and a sporting goods brand.

The speedy “elevator pitch” has become an essential component of selling one’s business idea to potential investors. RIT’s Center for Urban Entrepreneurship recently gave local entrepreneurs the opportunity to compete—in five minutes or less—for the grand prize in the Pull Up & ROC the Pitch competition.

A pair of RIT students who played a rendition of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal” on their cellos won best performance and a $1,000 prize in this year’s Ovation: RIT Performing Arts Showcase, held Friday night in Ingle Auditorium.
