The U.S. House of Representatives honored Saunders College of Business alumnus Kamalakar “Kam” Shenai ’89 MBA (marketing) as a distinguished leader in Central Florida during Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month in May.

Johnny “Cupcakes” Earle, founder of the world-renowned T-shirt brand Johnny Cupcakes—widely recognized for inspiring cult-like brand loyalty, including mile-long store queues and even permanent tattoos—will deliver the annual Gasser Lecture Series on campus next week.

According to Online MBA Report, Saunders Executive MBA ranked #15 among the top 25 private universities and colleges (7% of schools considered), #14 among top schools the East, and #2 among top schools in New York State.

RIT business students and faculty have experienced a number of major enhancements to Max Lowenthal Hall since the start of the fall semester, as the home of Saunders College of Business nears completion of a multi-million dollar expansion and renovation project.

Brian Landi and Katie McConky have been named department heads of the chemical engineering and industrial and systems engineering programs in the college. Both bring extensive teaching, research, and company experience to the academic leadership positions in the engineering college.

Natali Valdez, assistant professor at Purdue University and Presidential Fellow at Yale University, will visit RIT to share her research on social and political factors surrounding maternal medical policy as the featured speaker for the 2023 Eugene H. Fram Signature Lecture in Critical Thinking.

Political science and marketing double major Christopher Ferrari recently completed his co-op at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York (SDNY). Ferrari, who is from Spencerport, N.Y., received the Kristine and John Simmons Public Policy Scholar Internship Fund to help make this co-op more affordable.

RIT’s Future Faculty Career Exploration Program celebrates its 20th cohort of diverse academics Sept. 27-30. The program, hosted by the Office of Faculty Diversity and Recruitment, is a rigorous four-day event designed for historically underrepresented scholars and artists of color to experience a behind-the-scenes glimpse into life as a faculty member at RIT.
