This change comes about to further address the interdisciplinary trends and growth taking place in both the evolving print and packaging industries. It reflects the college and RIT’s focus on aligning programs to better provide a highly skilled workforce for each area.

Geoff Twardokus, a student in the Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering program, presented his work “Vehicle-to-Nothing? Securing C-V2X Against Protocol-Aware DoS Attacks” on May 5, 2022 at the IEEE International Conference on Computer Communications (IEEE INFOCOM).

During the RIT Doctoral Hooding Ceremony on May 6, 2022, three students from the Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering program received their doctoral degrees.

After graduating this year, computer science major Benjamin Gloger will spend almost a year living and working in Germany on a Fulbright Research scholarship. He will work on a project aimed at strengthening supply chains and their cybersecurity.

Associate professor Michael Murdoch received a prestigious Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award to develop new techniques to study visual adaptation in augmented and virtual reality.

While many colleges and universities require general education courses, RIT’s immersion requirement takes it a step further. Beyond the typical writing, math, science, social science, global studies, art, and ethics requirements, students are asked to fulfill an additional nine credits in a topic of interest. The intended result is to produce well-rounded students who have gained broader, more diverse perspectives.

Non-profit partners from RIT's annual interdisciplinary workshop have recently implemented ideas developed by teams of students working to use their skills for social good.

Ryan Bowen BS ’08, MS ’13, Ph.D. ’16 is chief technology officer at NRGXP and is being honored by the Graduate School.

Franklyn Athias BS ’85 is chief technology officer and senior vice president of Xfinity Mobile Retail Convergence and is being honored by the Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences.

Sherry Dadgar ’08 MS (bioinformatics) wants the future of medicine to empower patients. Dadgar, a clinical assistant professor of medicine at George Washington University, launched her company, Personalized Medicine Care Diagnostics (PMCDx), in 2020 with a goal of delivering advanced clinical genomic diagnostic testing to patients and their physicians.

Three games created by RIT students were honored at the RPI GameFest 2022 April 30.

Undergraduates in the Typography and Page Design class placed first and second in the annual Canon Solutions America collegiate design challenge. It was the second year students from the Graphic Media Science and Technology program competed in the event—and the second year they took top placements.
