    New exhibit explores the design of shopping bags

    The Cary Graphic Arts Collection presents “Carry On! Selections from the J. Scott Patnode Shopping Bag Collection” now through Dec. 18. The exhibition examines the design and visual impact of shopping bags from the 1960s to today and includes work by Andy Warhol, Yoko Ono and Keith Haring.

    An exhibition featuring a life-spanning selection of illustrations and paintings by wildlife artist Arthur Singer will adorn RIT’s University Gallery beginning in August. “Arthur Singer: The Wildlife Art of an American Master” showcases one of the world’s finest painters of birds and nature scenes.

    A segment on WXXI’s Arts InFocus featuring RIT’s Joseph F. and Helen C. Dyer Arts Center at NTID has won a bronze Telly Award, which recognizes distinction in local, regional and cable TV programs and commercials, as well as video and film productions.

    “Deaf Way, Her Way,” a retrospective of the work of internationally known artist Ann Silver, runs March 3 through April 22. Silver, who was born deaf, is a founding member of the historic Deaf Art Movement of the 1960s and 1970s.
