Constellation Brands creates scholarship to increase diverse representation in computing
The endowment set up for the Constellation Brands Endowed Scholarship was made possible by a $50,000 donation from the company, which will provide a scholarship of about $2,500 to one computing student every year. Constellation Brands gave an additional gift to ensure the scholarship could be awarded this fall, with one computing student receiving $2,500 this school year.

Alumnus Austin McChord creates endowed awards for creative RIT students and professors
RIT alumnus and founder of Datto Austin McChord is creating four endowment awards to support RIT students and professors. In naming the awards, McChord is honoring his grade school teachers from his hometown school district in Newtown, Conn. The endowments are made possible as part of a $50 million donation that McChord made to RIT in 2017.

RIT receives gift from IDI Billing Solutions to support diversity initiatives
A gift from IDI Billing Solutions, a global provider of cloud-based billing, automation and workflow solutions for Communications Service Providers, will help RIT fund a series of important diversity initiatives. The company recently donated $162,000 to help RIT provide new scholarships, emergency support funds, and programmatic opportunities for RIT and K-12 students.

RIT announces patents donation, creation of Dr. Russell and Melissa Bessette Award for Doctoral Student Excellence
Dr. Russell W. Bessette and his wife, Melissa, joined RIT officials and other dignitaries to announce a donation of two patents and the creation of the Dr. Russell and Melissa Bessette Award for Doctoral Student Excellence, a $3.05 million bequest from which funding will be awarded annually as part of recruitment or at any point during a doctoral student’s enrollment at RIT.
