Erin Sarofsky BFA ’98, MFA ’00 is executive creative director and owner of Sarofsky Corporation and is being honored by the College of Art and Design.

Three games created by RIT students were honored at the RPI GameFest 2022 April 30.

Undergraduates in the Typography and Page Design class placed first and second in the annual Canon Solutions America collegiate design challenge. It was the second year students from the Graphic Media Science and Technology program competed in the event—and the second year they took top placements.

Say Cheese, a pioneering, heartfelt film directed and produced by two RIT students, took home the top prize in the Coca-Cola Refreshing Films program announced during the final night of CinemaCon in Las Vegas late Thursday. The project featured the combined creative efforts of students, faculty, and staff in RIT’s School of Film and Animation and NTID.

A trio of trailblazing students who came to RIT from the university’s partner charter school will fulfill a long-term promise when they receive their college degrees at commencement this May. Zaid Abdulsalam, Ismael Cortes Jr., and Justice Marbury were among the first students to enroll at Rochester Prep High School, and they were the three students from the first graduating class in 2018 who chose RIT as their destination.

Aaron Gordon ’13, CEO of Optic Sky, an advertising and digital experience production company; Franklyn Athias ’85, CTO and senior vice president for Xfinity Mobile Retail Convergence; and Erin Sarofsky ’98, ’00 MFA, an award-winning creative visionary, discussed how the pandemic opened up the eyes of many industries to the future.

Visual media student Sydney Lewandowski '22 created the brand Glimpse of Gold to help further the mission of C.U.R.E. Childhood Cancer Association, a local nonprofit supporting families whose children have cancer or a blood disorder. 

RIT's printmaking studio will be a hive of activity from May 15-21 for Artists Print!, a weeklong experience that concludes with an exhibition and auction of monoprints created in the workshop.

A total of 272 exhibits varying from robots, virtual reality games, molten glass demonstrations, scavenger hunts, and performing arts are planned for this year’s Imagine RIT: Creativity and Innovation Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 23. 

After going virtual for 2021, the Imagine RIT: Creativity and Innovation Festival is back in person and virtually, planned from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, on the RIT campus in Henrietta and online at the Imagine RIT website.

Accomplished alumni are returning to campus to discuss the future of technology, art, and design as part of the Imagine RIT: Creativity and Innovation Festival on April 23. The Imagine RIT Futurists Symposium is from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Wegmans Theater, RIT MAGIC Center. It will also be available to watch as a livestream.
