RIT’s Saunders College of Business, Junior Achievement and Helen Barrett Montgomery School No. 50 in Rochester brought together RIT alumni, students and local business leaders for an all-day learning marathon to educate K-6 children at School No. 50 about business, economics and free enterprise. -

Grade school students Get Connected to computing
More than 50 Rochester-area grade school students are now dreaming of careers in computing after attending RIT’s Get Connected events this February and March. The free workshops gave 8th–10th grade students a taste of computing and highlighted different areas of the field. -

New season of FIRST Robotics begins Jan. 6
More than 3,500 teams from around the world will be part of the 2018 FIRST Robotics Kick Off, viewing a live, worldwide telecast at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 6. The Finger Lakes Regional competition takes place March 16-17 at the Gordon Field House. -

Students, staff visit School No. 5 today for the Giant Read
For the past 10 years, RIT student-athletes and library staff have been helping young City of Rochester students learn to read as part of the READ: Hope in Action program. The 10th annual Giant Read, the program’s signature event, will bring more than 40 of these volunteers together on Friday. -
