RIT’s FreezeFest offers skating, comedy, performing arts and a mechanical reindeer
What better way to enjoy the winter than celebrating the season with some hot chocolate, ice skating, musical entertainment, free swag and an escape room to get away from winter’s icy grip. Those are just a few of the activities lined up for this year’s FreezeFest, Thursday through Sunday.

College students who want to break into the computing industry can start at the upcoming WiCHacks hackathon Feb. 29 – March 1 at RIT. For the two-day hackathon, teams work together to create apps, websites, games and other software that provide unique solutions to problems.

RIT students create pinball machines for History and Design of Pinball course
As part of an interactive games and media course, 12 RIT students made cardboard and digital pinball machines designed around themes of their own choosing. For the final exam, students brought their creations to The Strong National Museum of Play and had visitors give their physical and virtual pinball machines a test drive.

RIT Esports wins Hearthstone Collegiate Championship
Students from RIT Esports bested more than 300 teams from across North America to win the 2019 Hearthstone Collegiate Championship Fall Finals on Dec. 14. The RIT student team took home the top trophy and $6,000 in scholarships for playing the digital card game Hearthstone.
