    RIT has an a cappella group that sings exclusively in Japanese. The group’s name, Kaminari, means “thunder” in Japanese. They performed at the kick-off party for International Education Week.

RIT celebrated Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend Oct. 18-20, 2019. The weekend's more than 100 events included a conversation with CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, a celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Tiger Statue, BBQ & Beats, the Golden Circle reunion luncheon and campus tour, No Voice Zone, pumpkin chunkin' and a men's hockey game.
