End of Semester Checklist

No visitors are allowed to enter RIT housing. Students requiring assistance moving out of RIT housing should email residencelife@rit.edu.

COVID testing of students prior to their departure for the break is available.

I plan to leave for Thanksgiving break and...

  • Complete the required Finals & Winter Break Circulation Plan at mylife.rit.edu by Tuesday, Nov. 24. This process will provide you with detailed information regarding RIT Housing requirements.
  • We encourage you to be thoughtful about which items you take home or decide to leave behind in the event your travel plans change.
  • Depart from your RIT Housing assignment by Wednesday, Nov. 25 at 4 p.m. Lock your door and take your RIT Housing key with you.
  • We recommend continued use of the Daily Health Screen throughout the Winter Break.
  • Complete the required Finals & Winter Break Circulation Plan at mylife.rit.edu by Tuesday, Nov. 24. This process will provide you with detailed information regarding RIT Housing requirements.
  • No guests will be permitted in the residential buildings to assist with move-out. If you require assistance, please email residencelife@rit.edu to submit your request. Any approved guests will need to adhere to NYS travel quarantine and testing requirements as well as the RIT visitor policy.
  • Return your key and check out from RIT Housing by Wednesday, Nov. 25 at 4 p.m.
  • We recommend continued use of the Daily Health Screen throughout the Winter Break.

When traveling for Thanksgiving:

  • Consider the NYS Travel Guidelines to determine when you will be eligible to return to your RIT Housing. If you plan to return to RIT after visiting a restricted location, you are required to complete the NYS Traveler Health Form and follow NYS mandatory guidelines before returning to circulate on campus.
  • Complete the required Finals & Winter Break Circulation Plan at mylife.rit.edu by Tuesday, Nov. 24. This process will provide you with detailed information regarding RIT Housing requirements.
  • Take everything that you need for final exams. Please be thoughtful about which items you take home or decide to leave behind in the event your travel plans change. Clean out your refrigerator and take your RIT Housing key with you.
  • You are required to complete the Daily Health Screen through the end of the final exam period (Tuesday, Dec. 8).

At the end of the final exam period:

  • Depart from your RIT Housing assignment by Wednesday, Dec. 9 at 10 a.m. and take your RIT Housing key with you.

  • We recommend continued use of the Daily Health Screen throughout the Winter Break.

If you do not live in RIT Housing

Students who do not live in RIT Housing do not need to complete or submit the Finals & Winter Break Circulation Plan.

If you plan to travel to a restricted location, you are required to follow the NYS Travel Guidelines before returning to circulate on campus.

If you plan to circulate on campus during the Winter Break, you are required to complete the Daily Health Screen. If you do not plan to circulate on campus, we still recommend that you complete the health screening daily.
