    Tait Preserve becoming hotbed for interdisciplinary research

    RIT has an emerging new hotspot for interdisciplinary research about 25 minutes from the main campus. The Tait Preserve includes a 60-acre lake and a private mile of Irondequoit Creek adjacent to Ellison Park, offering endless opportunities for research, education, and conservation activities.

    Makerspace complex will transform center of campus

    The largest construction project on the RIT campus in more than 50 years remains on track to open in fall 2023. When complete, the Student Hall for Exploration and Development (SHED) will cover more than 120,000 square feet of new construction as well as more than 83,000 square feet of renovations in two existing buildings.

    Continuing down the path to greatness

    When we drafted a new vision statement for RIT’s Strategic Plan in 2018, the realities of a global pandemic were only a hypothetical part of our crisis training and preparation. While the university continues to carefully navigate the challenge of COVID-19, we have simultaneously never taken our eye off the plan’s goals and objectives as we envision our future.

    RIT launches online Master of Architecture degree

    RIT today announced the official launch of its online Master of Architecture (M.Arch) degree. RIT’s new online degree is accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board and is being offered in partnership with 2U Inc., the parent company of global online learning platform edX.

    RIT/NTID Dyer Arts Center, Gallaudet University Archives announce first-ever collaborative exhibition

    For the first time, a collaborative exhibition of works by Deaf artists from two prominent permanent collections will be shown to the public. “Traversing the Boundaries of the Natural and Synthetic Worlds,” a joint exhibit by the Joseph F. and Helen C. Dyer Arts Center at NTID and the Gallaudet University Archives, will run Dec. 23, 2021, through Jan. 15, 2022, with an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23.

    RIT involved in development of state hub for battery innovation

    RIT’s Battery Prototyping Center will be part of New Energy New York, a state hub for new battery innovation, manufacturing, and workforce development. The hub, led by SUNY Binghamton, received funding for the first phase of development to expand the battery technology and energy storage sector.
