Management Professor’s Work in Circular Economy Leads to a New Center
Clyde Eiríkur Hull, professor of management, is an internationally recognized expert in and proponent of circular economy, an approach where no waste goes into a landfill because everything left over is reused by a business or sold to someone else. Hull’s work led to the development of the newly formed Competitive Sustainability Center, which will help businesses, non-profits, and government agencies find and pursue competitive sustainability opportunities.

Despite Amazon’s efforts, the growing glut of fake reviews on its site leaves consumers wondering whether the product they’re considering is truly so highly rated. A new research study, “Detecting Fake Review Buyers Using Network Structure: Direct Evidence from Amazon,” co-authored Ali Tosyali and Gijs Overgoor, assistant professors in the department of MIS, marketing, and analytics, helps consumers avoid being duped.

Panacheeza, a company founded by Janessa Steenberg ‘23, has seen sales rise by 500 percent since its launch, with products sold out several times over the past few months. Steenberg’s company offers a plant-based Parmesan-style cheese.
