John Pfahl, an influential landscape photographer, spent 17 years as a professor in the School of Photographic Arts and Sciences.

A series of one-credit workshops offered through the School of Photographic Arts and Sciences provided a platform for students to engage with and learn from accomplished creatives.

Rochester, N.Y.’s notable histories as the birthplace of the women’s rights movement and photography will come together for RIT’s Big Shot next month. Organizers of the longtime community photographic project will capture a dramatic nighttime image of the National Susan B. Anthony Museum & House, 17 Madison St., and surrounding neighborhood on March 22.

The release event and exhibition for Draft, a publication annually executed by photography students, is set for April 3 at George Eastman Museum’s Peristyle Gallery. This year marks the 16th edition.

The New York Times. White House Photo Office. Magnum Photos. And much more. Students met with the most well-known news organizations, agencies, artists, studios and alumni during the School of Photographic Arts and Sciences' annual networking trips to NYC and DC. 

In support of the college admission process, prospective students from around the country received portfolio reviews from RIT faculty and reps from other leading art and design colleges.

Students from RIT's photography school — along with those from other disciplines across campus — filled a website with compelling images, videos and stories from the 2019 Special Olympics New York Winter Games.

RIT City Art Space—the College of Art and Design’s new first-floor gallery and community event venue inside Sibley Square at Liberty Pole Plaza in downtown Rochester—opened its doors to the public on Friday, with an exhibition featuring two of the university’s creative titans.

Andy Franklin ’75 (photojournalism) has amassed one of the largest single collections of images of student life at RIT during the early years of the still-new Henrietta campus.

The Rochester Prep High School graduating class of 25 students received 96 college acceptances, and 100 percent of these students will attend college in the fall--three of whom will attend RIT.
