RIT students to perform in Ovation
RIT students will have a chance to show their talents and compete for cash prizes during Ovation: RIT Performing Arts Showcase, from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 4 in the Robert F. Panara Theatre in Lyndon Baines Hall. It is one of several events for this year’s 10-day FreezeFest festival.

Volunteers needed for Baja SAE collegiate race and field competition in Rochester June 2-5
Rochester Institute of Technology will host the 2022 Baja SAE Collegiate Competition on June 2-5. Volunteers are needed for judging student design and on-track events taking place at the university and at Hogback Hill Motocross site in Palmyra, N.Y.

RIT welcomes its most recent Newman Civic Fellow
Growing up in a family of teachers, Nidhi Baindur has valued education from a very young age. Baindur, a second-year computational mathematics major from the island nation of Mauritius, is well on her way to helping others as just the second RIT recipient of the Newman Civic Fellowship, which recognizes and supports community-committed students who are change-makers and public problem solvers.

Sophia Wozniak, a first-year psychology student with a concentration in neuroscience, was recently awarded a scholarship for her tennis skills through HearStrong and the NFL Players Association’s Professional Athletes Foundation.

Brick City Weekend returns Oct. 15-17
This year’s Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend, Oct. 15 through 17, features numerous in-person events including entertainment, hockey, speakers, escape rooms, axe throwing, a zip line, tours, open houses, and more. Building on the success of last year’s Tiger Alumni Week, a variety of virtual programs specifically for alumni will be held beginning on Oct. 11.
