The College of Art and Design welcomes new hires to its faculty roster while longtime faculty Alex Lobos assumes a role as director of the School of Design.

RIT students will have more opportunities to flex their creative muscles outside of the classroom through a new program called MAKE, housed within RIT’s College of Art and Design. The new program creates opportunities for students outside of the college to engage with the resources and expertise available within the School for American Crafts and School of Art.

Associate Professor Mitch Goldstein is an educator, graphic designer, and a writer with a forthcoming book. Furniture design can now also be added to the list of his many talents.

United States Artists honored Wendy Maruyama '80 MFA (woodworking and furniture design) with the United States Artists Fellowship award in the category of Craft.

"Craft in America," a documentary series on handmade objects and the artists who make them, will feature furniture maker Wendy Maruyama '80 MFA (woodworking and furniture design). The episode is scheduled to air at 10 p.m. Dec. 27 on WXXI-TV.
