After attending the College and Careers program at RIT, Kaylee Steiner discovered the Biotechnology program and realized it was more closely aligned with her interests.

Ridding waterways of microplastics, delivering water to remote villages experiencing drought, and better ways to remove salt from water were just a few of the clean-water research projects recently presented by undergraduate students as part of RIT’s Grand Challenge Scholars program.

Designed for students who want to learn how animals transform light and other radiation into information, the Animal Vision course explores the varied approaches to visually acquiring information employed by animals.

When Bilal Zeghum left RIT to help his family relocate, he thought he had met all the requirements for his degree. When he discovered he had not, it didn't stop him from continuing on his path to completing his education and entering a career in his field.

RIT will use a substantial gift of real estate in Penfield to expand the university’s research and educational offerings in ecology, agriculture, sustainability and other fields. Amy Leenhouts Tait and Robert C. Tait have gifted to the university their 177-acre property, which will be dedicated as the Tait Preserve of RIT.

Nine RIT College of Art and Design students showcased wearable sculpture made through the creative use of various materials at Rochester’s annual Maker Faire. 

The new graduate degree in health and well-being management will prepare students for careers in primary health care, corporate America and community health programs, or for medical/dental school and health-related Ph.D. programs.

RIT requires all undergraduates on its Rochester campus to complete two wellness courses before they can graduate. There are more than 180 wellness course options, and the goal is for students to appreciate a healthy lifestyle that will last long after they graduate.

The donation includes four premier and mid-tier ultrasound systems, transducers, simulators and related devices. The addition to the RIT sonography scanning suite enables students to practice on different models before beginning their clinical internships.

Entrepreneurship took center stage Nov. 7 at RIT at the 15th annual Entrepreneurs Conference, co-sponsored by Saunders College of Business and Albert J. Simone Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, featuring informational networking sessions, a student business pitch competition and a keynote address from a strategist at one of the world’s best-known ridesharing companies.
