Gaokao-Based Admission Program
Rochester Institute of Technology welcomes applicants from China who have taken the Gaokao exam.

Application: Apply to RIT through the Common App or the RIT Application

Admit Term: Apply for either fall or spring term. Check out application timelines

Test Scores: TOEFL, IELTS, and Duolingo are waived. Gaokao English scores may substitute for an English proficiency test.
Optionally provide official or self-reported test results from the SAT and/or ACT. RIT is "Test Optional" for all undergraduate programs. Applicants may choose whether to report test scores to be considered with their application.

Expedited Application Process: Applications submitted with complete Gaokao scores may receive an admission decision within two weeks.

Scholarships: All applicants are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships.
Awards range from $14,000 to $27,000 per year, renewable for the full undergraduate program.

Complete the RIT Application and include your Gaokao scores. Unofficial scores and transcripts will be accepted for review

Submit an official high school transcript. Transcripts may be sent electronically or mailed/emailed to RIT Admissions from your high school.

Submit a letter of recommendation.
A school counselor recommendation is preferred, teacher recommendations are welcome, and any additional recommendation letters will be considered (minimum of 1 recommendation letter required, suggested maximum of 3-5). Recommenders are welcome to email their letters to admissions@rit.edu.提交推荐信

Students whose native language is not English must submit results of the TOEFL, IELTS or Gaokao English examination. Testing can be self-reported. If test scores are above RIT school minimum requirements, students may be granted Direct Admission. Students who are offered Conditional Admission will need to take an English Placement Test at RIT. - As an international student you are required to demonstrate English language proficiency. RIT will consider students at all levels of English language proficiency for admission. / 国际学生需要提交英语语言测试成绩，RIT接受不同的英语语言测试成绩。
