Applications will be accepted on a rolling bases. Priority will be given to applications received my Friday, March 22.

PRIORITY APPLICATION DEADLINE: FRIDAY, MARCH 22 - 2019 

Step 1:

Contact your home campus advisor for more information about the transfer process and assistance in filling out the necessary paper work.

Step 2:

Fill out your application in The Compass .

Step 4:

Your application will be submitted to your respective department at the Rochester campus. It takes approximately 3 to 4 weeks to get a decission from your department. You will be notified of their decission immedieatly after.

Step 5:

You have one week from the day you are notified to confirm that you will proceed with the transfer process.

Step 6:

You will work with your new main campus academic advisor to pick the classes that fit into your plan of study. 

Step 7:

Once you confirm your participation, the International Student Services Office will proceed to issue your I-20. This process can take from 2  to 3 weeks from the day you confirmed your intent to transfer. Once these documents have been issued we will e-mail you a digital copy of it so you can confirm all the information on it is correct. Once you confirm the information is correct, we will proceed to send it via FedEx to your home campus so you can apply for the F-1 student visa at your home US Embassy or Consulate. 

Step 8:

While your I-20 is getting processed, you will receive communication from the Global program coordinator regarding the following:

  • How to apply for housing
  • Information of requirements from the Student Health Center
  • Information regarding medical insurance
  • Instructions on how to sign up for International Student Orientation
  • Instructions for your arrival to Rochester


Step 9:

You will notify the Global program coordinator as soon as your visa is approved. You will then send the coordinator detailed information of your arrival to Rochester at least two weeks prior to your arrival.

The Global staff will continue to assist you with any questions and concerns you may have before arrival.
